AwardMeter runs a daily census of IHG reward pricing: the same fixed set of future nights, at every tracked hotel, recorded every day since July 10, 2026.
Every day we request the same fixed set of future nights at every tracked hotel and record the cheapest standard reward night in points and the cheapest cash rate for the same night, exactly as shown to a logged-out member booking one adult.
Point value is the cash price divided by the points price, in US cents per point. Cash prices are after tax and mandatory fees. Other currencies convert at daily exchange rates. A hotel’s published value is the median across its distinct tracked nights, not one lucky date.
A hotel appears on the site only after 14 days of observations. All-inclusive resorts are tracked but excluded from leaderboards because their rates include meals.
The cheapest cash rate is sometimes a prepaid or promotional rate, which makes our values conservative. We compare cheapest cash room against cheapest reward room, which are usually but not always the same room type. Collection is polite by design: a fixed request budget, spread out, at a quiet hour.
